Homemade
Granola

This recipe originally
called for shredded coconut, which we know is a high-fat food. Although granola
is not exactly low-fat or low-cal., the whole grains and seeds are just so good
for you... so, in moderation, it's a good thing!
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Ingredients:
4 c. uncooked rolled oats
1/2 c. sesame seeds
3/4 c. sunflower seeds or chopped almonds (almonds are the *best for you* nuts!)
1/3 c. honey
1/3 c. sunflower oil
2 T. water
3/4 c. raisins
Directions...
In a large bowl mix together oats and seeds. In a smaller bowl combine honey, oil and water and pour over oat mixture, stir well. Spread mixture onto a large rimmed baking sheet and bake 35-40 minutes until browned on top, stirring granola every 5-10 minutes while baking. Remove from oven and cool. Add raisins and stir once more. Store granola in sealed container for several weeks, or freeze for longer storage.
Makes 6 cups
